All about India's First Electric Train

When:
Almost 91 years ago, on February 3, 1925, India inaugurated its first electric train services.  

Where:
Daily service began between Bombay VT and Kurla on the Harbor Line.  
Facts:
#_A 129 foot high railway gantry was erected to make this possible.  At the time, the structure was billed as the only such traction span in the world.

#_The section was electrified with overhead 1500 Volt DC power Supply.

#_The locomotives for this electric train was manufactured by Cammell Laird and Uerdingen Waggonfabrik(Wagon Factory).
